#Foodpost: Affordable EATS at Laksaamana @ Damansara Uptown

Recently, as I was strolling around Damansara Uptown for food, my cousin and I came across this little eatery located at the heart of this township - Laksaamana who serve some of Malaysian favourites!

A cup of strawberry infused water certainly great on a hot day at Damansara!

 Royal Seafood Noodle
RM15.90

Among the many different type of dishes here, I certainly recommend this bowl of Seafood noodle to you patrons! Generous portion of seafood that consist of 2 huge prawns, clams, mussels, sliced fish cakes topped with fragrant chopped onions. Besides boasting on the freshness of the seafood, the broth is rather unique as i realized it has a tinge of spicyness to it and less creamy compared to the curry laksa broth served here at Laksaamana.
Curry Laksa

Served with chicken, hard boiled egg, fishcakes, tofu topped with fragrant, creamy and rich in taste curry laksa broth! Perfect bowl for those curry laksa lovers! Also, note that it's ONLY RM9.90!!!

 Asam Laksa
RM8.90

Besides that, they also serve asam laksa here! For those laksa lovers, this would be for you!

#Foodpost: Gourmet Dining @ Champignons, Oasis Square, Ara Damansara

NOW EVERYONE CAN FINE DINE
@ Champignons, Ara Damansara

Recently as my foodie friends and I were around Oasis Square, Ara Damansara we came across this new restaurant who gives off an impression of a fine dining restaurant. To our surprise, we checked out the menu and it was quite affordable and we decided to try it out.

Here's a picture of the place from the outside

If you're around here too, you'd definitely won't miss this place! Lighted up during the evenings!

Croque Madame

We started off with this Amouse Boush (Chef Special) - consist of baked cheese and ham sandwich infused with truffle oil which gives it fragrant!

Homemade Smoked Salmon with citrus salad
RM26

Next, we had this beautiful starter! Kudos to the chef for the amazing plating! Consist of diced beet root and apple salad served with avocado puree, topped with generous portion of fresh salmons, crispy crouton and flat bread dough. Not forgetting the colorful looking flower petals! This dish is very refreshing, just the perfect dish for a starter.

Wild Mushroom Soup
RM18

We also tried this bowl of Wild Mushroom Soup! Great taste and combination of oyster & button mushrooms. I personally love the bits of mushrooms which gives something to chew on unlike the typical creamy smooth version.

Grilled US Pork ribs with plum sake glazed
RM25

Another great starter which I'd like to recommend would be this "finger-linkin-good" pork ribs which is cooked and marinated to perfection with plum sake sauce.
Just the dish for ribs lover!

Squid ink pasta with market seafood
RM35

As for the mains, definitely not miss this Squid Ink Pasta here at Champignons. Pasta was cooked to perfect ala-dante served with a generous portion of seafoods to topped it off!

Black Truffle Chicken breast
(HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!)
RM35

I personally would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you to try this Black Truffle chicken breast dish! My initial impression of chicken breast is that it's always dry and tough. However, this dish exceeded my expectation. The chicken was well marinated and moisture in the meat is preserved without being overcooking it. The black truffles certainly complimented the dish perfectly!

Australian Lamb Short loin with homemade lamb sausage
RM48

If you're a lamb person, you might not want to miss this homemade lamb sausage dish! Combination of lamb T-bone & lamb sausage accompanied by cumin carrot puree sauce.

Mario Mushroom
RM18

Known to be Champignons' signature dessert consist of chocolate sponge, marshmallows, and rasberries topped with a white chocolate dome. A combination of warm and cold, soft and chewy. There's also sprinkle of popping candies! So, if you're lucky, you'll probably be in for a treat!

All in all, Champignons aims to create an opportunity to more to experience fine dine with their tag line - "NOW EVERYONE CAN FINE DINE". If you're looking for a place for good food and service at a quite affordable price, this would be the place you'll be looking for!

Before I sign off, here's my personal rating,
Ambience: 8/10 - Great!
Food: 8/10 - Great!
Service: 10/10- Good
Price: Expect an average of RM80 - RM150 per person.

Food: Sen of Thai @ Damansara Uptown

Recently, I was invited for a blogger's gathering organised by Tap by Seeties. Now that I'm part of Seeties, it's fun to be able to meet and mingle with so many other bloggers especially during gatherings like that. So, if you're a blogger yourself too, come on and be part of TAP by Seeties.

Anyway, the gathering that I've attended was held at Sen of Thai, Damansara Uptown. Knowing that it'll be Thai food, I immediately agreed to go without any doubt!

While waiting for the rest of the bloggers to arrive, I decided to go round and take a few shots of the place.

The comfy and cozy surrounding suitable for friends and family gathering

You can even have a corner for yourself if you wish to have a little privacy for you and your love ones :)

It's finally time to eat! Being a foodie myself, I always look forward to times when there is food especially food that I love a lot!

A top view of everything that we had during the gathering. Next, allow me to introduce to you some of my favourites among them!

Soups

Tom Yum Goong
RM28

How can you miss this pot of tomyum especially when you're having Thai food right? This was one of the best tomyum I have ever tried here in KL. I love the perfect balance of sour and spicy and the generous amount of chickens, mushrooms and other ingredients in it. Just the bowl to satisfy your tomyum cravings!

Thai baked mussels in claypot with basil leaves
RM29

The soup taste was excellent having the perfect balance of sour and spicy which is just nice to my taste buds. The mussels was just nicely cooked as it was still chewy and nice!

Appetizers

Steamed prawn topped with lime chilli sauce
RM16

Prawn was nicely steamed as it still contain the moisture in it which makes it very bouncy & fresh. However, I personally find this dish a tad bit spicy to my likings as cut chillies are also added on the prawn for an extra "oom" to it! Be sure to remove them if you can't take spicy!

Crab Spring Roll
RM16

This has a very crispy skin on the outside complimented by some fresh crab meat as the stuffings! Eaten best with the chilli sauce dip at the side!

Yam Spring Roll
RM12

Mains

Stir fried brocolli with scallops
RM24

Chinese style stir fried brocolli with generous portion of scallops to topped it off!

Deep Fried Siakap with Signature Thai Chilli sauce
RM55

I've always like deep fried fishes especially more when they are fresh! In addition to the crispy skin on the surface, you can also taste the sweetness and freshness of  the flesh beneath it. A dish totally to go for! Complimented well with the Signature Thai Chilli Sauce which gives it some extra boost to it!

Sizzling beef with black pepper sauce
RM20

Cranberry Pineapple fried rice
RM16

Classic Pad Thai
RM15

Desserts

 Tab Tim Krob  (RM8.50)
&
Sago Honeydew(RM8.50)

Whenever I visit a Thai restaurant, I will be definitely on the look out for this dessert! Tab Tim Krob (Water Chestnut) served with shaved ice, jack fruits and soaked with sweetened coconut milk. Just refreshing!
