Food: Sen of Thai @ Damansara Uptown

Recently, I was invited for a blogger's gathering organised by Tap by Seeties. Now that I'm part of Seeties, it's fun to be able to meet and mingle with so many other bloggers especially during gatherings like that. So, if you're a blogger yourself too, come on and be part of TAP by Seeties.

Anyway, the gathering that I've attended was held at Sen of Thai, Damansara Uptown. Knowing that it'll be Thai food, I immediately agreed to go without any doubt!

While waiting for the rest of the bloggers to arrive, I decided to go round and take a few shots of the place.

The comfy and cozy surrounding suitable for friends and family gathering

You can even have a corner for yourself if you wish to have a little privacy for you and your love ones :)

It's finally time to eat! Being a foodie myself, I always look forward to times when there is food especially food that I love a lot!

A top view of everything that we had during the gathering. Next, allow me to introduce to you some of my favourites among them!

Soups

Tom Yum Goong
RM28

How can you miss this pot of tomyum especially when you're having Thai food right? This was one of the best tomyum I have ever tried here in KL. I love the perfect balance of sour and spicy and the generous amount of chickens, mushrooms and other ingredients in it. Just the bowl to satisfy your tomyum cravings!

Thai baked mussels in claypot with basil leaves
RM29

The soup taste was excellent having the perfect balance of sour and spicy which is just nice to my taste buds. The mussels was just nicely cooked as it was still chewy and nice!

Appetizers

Steamed prawn topped with lime chilli sauce
RM16

Prawn was nicely steamed as it still contain the moisture in it which makes it very bouncy & fresh. However, I personally find this dish a tad bit spicy to my likings as cut chillies are also added on the prawn for an extra "oom" to it! Be sure to remove them if you can't take spicy!

Crab Spring Roll
RM16

This has a very crispy skin on the outside complimented by some fresh crab meat as the stuffings! Eaten best with the chilli sauce dip at the side!

Yam Spring Roll
RM12

Mains

Stir fried brocolli with scallops
RM24

Chinese style stir fried brocolli with generous portion of scallops to topped it off!

Deep Fried Siakap with Signature Thai Chilli sauce
RM55

I've always like deep fried fishes especially more when they are fresh! In addition to the crispy skin on the surface, you can also taste the sweetness and freshness of  the flesh beneath it. A dish totally to go for! Complimented well with the Signature Thai Chilli Sauce which gives it some extra boost to it!

Sizzling beef with black pepper sauce
RM20

Cranberry Pineapple fried rice
RM16

Classic Pad Thai
RM15

Desserts

 Tab Tim Krob  (RM8.50)
&
Sago Honeydew(RM8.50)

Whenever I visit a Thai restaurant, I will be definitely on the look out for this dessert! Tab Tim Krob (Water Chestnut) served with shaved ice, jack fruits and soaked with sweetened coconut milk. Just refreshing!

Royal Thai Look Chop
RM12 for 6 pieces

Last but not least, Sen of Thai serves good food while providing great surrounding and comfortable ambience for it's patrons. If you're looking for a place with comfy and cozy environment while satisfying your Thai food cravings, head on to Sen of Thai @ Damansara Uptown.

FOOD: Lobbee Thai Connection @ Empire Damansara, Kuala Lumpur

Those of you who likes sour and spicy food, I'm pretty sure Thai food has been one of your choice of food just like me!

Recently, I was enchanted to receive an invite for a review at Lobbee Thai Connection, Empire Damansara. In case you're not familiar with this place, it is located at the Lower Ground level ( which is the same level as the parking area).

With an spacious, modern and comfy place to dine in, you will also realize that the food here is not the "usual" or authentic Thai food that you have in mind because they have modified and add in a little kick into their food to deviate from the usual Thai food.

We were served with a range of different special drinks to start off the review.

 Red Lemon Soda
RM8

Isn't this drink unique?
The idea of this was from Thailand itself but the recipe is special and can only be found at Lobbee! By the way, this was my personal favourite having a combination of sweet and sourish taste to it! Totally love it!

 Lobbee Iced Tea
RM9

A refreshing roasted tea with base of lychee especially during these hot season.

 Iced Butterfly Pea Lime Juice
RM9

If you're wondering, the blue colour to this drink was made from the same as in ' nasi kerabu' butterfly pea flower. So, it is a natural colouring and it's not harmful!

Pouring the lime juice in will actually change the colour of the drink!

 TADA!!!!

 Iced Butterfly Pea Milk

Fried Potato with Thai Salad Dressing

Thai Salad Dressing

Consist of  peanuts, long beans, chilly, fish sauce & palm sugar

The way of eating this is to pour the Thai salad dressing into the plate of fried potatoes and mixed it well. The sauce compliments the fried potatoes really well that it gives an unique combination of spicy, sour and salty taste to it.

 Chicken Skewers with Sticky Rice
RM9

 Chicken Skewers

This is apparently the favourite appetizers in the north east part of Thailand. However, in Thailand, pork is used but Lobbee is a pork free restaurant. So, chicken thigh and breast is used. The meats are marinated and grilled on a pan before serving it together with sticky rice. I realised that the sticky rice served in this dish is slightly different from the usual sticky rice as it is chewier and harder and less oily.

 Thai Squid Cake
RM12
(served with Thai Chilli sauce)

This is a slight modified version of the Thai fishcake as squid is used which makes it a little more chewier and extra bites to it! A very flavourful and tasty appetizer.

Stir Fried Flat Noodle with Chickent & Brown Squid
RM15

Served with eggs, lettuce, brown squid, topped with fried chicken skin for more crispy taste to it and lastly garnished with some spring onions. The noodles used in here are not "hor fun" but it's actually "chee cheong fun" simply because it give a smoother texture to this dish.

 Lobbee Combo
RM98

Being the highlight of the review, it is served with Asian Green Lobster, King crab legs, Salmon, squid, mussels, and soft boiled eggs. Also, you may also have a choice of Thai Kuey Teow/ Thai instant noodle/ Thai flat noodle/ vermicelli. For those seafood and Thai food lovers, this would be the bowl of goodness you've been searching for! This totally have a generous portion of seafood sufficient for 3-4 pax.
