Food: Moo Kata Steamboat & BBQ House @ Kuchai Lama food court

Recently, I was invited for a review at MOO KATA STEAMBOAT & BBQ HOUSE located in the Kuchai Lama food court itself. My first thought of having steamboat and BBQ concept dining in a food court setting was rather odd. However, weather that night was chilly and breezy best suited for steamboats and BBQ!

Simple and spacious setting of the restaurant

Mr Chua and his sister in-law, Angel decided to start this business after a trip up to Bangkok. According to Mr Chua, 'Moo Kata' means 'steamboat concept' in Thai. Here at Moo Kata, they served more that 120 different types of food ranging from fresh seafoods, tender and juicy meats,  there are 3 ways for you to cook your food.

 The Grill
This grill uses charcoal to cook your meat. There are advantages of cooking your meats with charcoals. The dry, white- hot heat of charcoal sears the meat quickly, thus creating a crusty, caramelized exterior and it also gives you a smoky flavour to your meat.

 The Sizzling hot plate.
Be careful not to put too much oil! Otherwise, it might just splat on you.

The Hot pot or Steamboat
To those who wants a healthier and lesser oil to their meal, this would be the one for you!

The wide varieties of meats!
If you're a meat person, this is just the corner for you! Just grab any meats of your desire and cook them to your liking :)

Thin - sliced pork
Specially sliced pork where you can cook and eat your meat similar to Suki-Ya

Choices of various types of seafoods and fish balls

Various choices of leafy greens
It's always good to add in some greens into your steamboat for a change and not only meats. It's healthy afterall :)

Mixture of different types of meats of the sizzling hot plate
Sizzling hot place cooking my juicy and tender lamb meat for the night! It was awesome! You should try their Black pepper Lamb if you are here! ( MUST TRY!)

 The Pork Bone soup
20KG of pork bone is used to produce 170 litres of this amazingly rich and tasty soup that goes well for your steamboat!

Homemade Tom Yam paste
If you want to add some "twist" into your steamboat soup. This homemade tomyam paste will surely do the trick! I personally do love this tom yam paste added into my hot pot! Beware, not to add in too much as it's a little spicy :)

Moo Kata sauce (My personal favourite!)
I personally likes to eat spicy a lot and this Moo Kata sauce has won my heart that night! It goes well with every meats and seafoods.

 Seafood sauce
This seafood sauce has a sour taste accompanied with some garlic

 Thai sauce
If you like your sauce to have a strong ginger flower (bunga kantan) taste to it, this it just the right one for you!

Sweet sauce
Consist of sour, sweet, with some taste of a fermented beancurd

Last but not least, the desserts!

Various ranges of Ice-creams
(Strawberry, cendol, chocolate, cappuccino, yam & rainbow)

Durian Float (MUST TRY!)
A homemade fillipino delicacy who is made from pure D24 durian flesh which can only be found here at Moo Kata! To those durian lovers out there, this might just be the perfect dessert you're looking for after such a heavy meal.
