FOOD: Gossip Times @ Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya

If you have been to Cameron Highlands, you would most likely to be familiar with Gossip Corner as they are very well known for their Burger Challenge! Just 3 months ago, they have decided to expand their eatery nearer to the city center located at Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya.

 The Entrance

A spacious and comfy place for patrons to dine-in. Very suitable place for friends and family gatherings!

Gossip times serve some of the local favourite dishes of rice, noodles, western and even steamboat! This is just the right place for family to dine-in especially when each have very different cravings at the same time! Truly a hidden gem serving good food with affordable prices!

 Special Curry Chicken Rice
RM8.90

Served with fragrant rice, fried egg, papadum, sliced cucumbers and tomato and a bowl of soup of the day. Taste of the curry chicken was just perfect to my taste buds with the addition of lemongrass which brings out an extra after-taste to it. Here at Gossip time, they uses fresh milk instead of coconut milk which explains why it does not have the "Santan" taste like any other curry chicken.

 Gossip prawn Wantan Mee Dry
RM8,90

Another specialty of theirs, this bowl of Wantan mee is personally made by the Chef's Master (with over 40 years of experience) which explains why the noodle here has a very bouncy and firm texture to it! A very addictive bowl of noodle! Try it for yourself! However, I personally thinks that it's a tad bit too salty to my likings but then again, this vary depending on individuals.

 Gossip Prawn Wantan Mee Soup
RM8.90 (Small)
RM9.90 (Big)

Served in flavourful pork bone broth, homemade springy wantan noodles and generous sizes of Wantans! I especially love the size of the wantans served here at Gossip Times! Also. it is also hard to get the good original Wantan mee these days in Malaysia which the wantan content has a mixture of "Left mouth fish" in it. With the addition of this fish, it really does distinguish it as a perfect bowl of Wantan Mee!

Curry Chicken Soup Wantan Mee
RM8.90

Prefer something out of the norm? Try this bowl of wantan mee out!

Spicy noodle King
RM9.90

For those chilli lovers out there just like me, this should be the bowl you've been looking for! It is rather similar to the "chilli pan mee" that we have but the pan mee is replaced with wantan mee instead. However, please do eat with caution as it is really quite spicy! The spicy sauce here is made up of 7 different chillies! You can imagine how spicy it is!

Special Satay sauce Chicken Chop rice
RM14.50

Chicken chop was fried before topping with special satay sauce. I personally did not really favour this dish too much as I personally thinks that the satay sauce did not really compliments the chicken chop too well. It's somehow taste quite similar to the "satay celup" in Melaka.

 Mushroom Chicken Rice
RM8.90

The Burger Challenge

Remember earlier that I mentioned about the burger challenge that they have it in Cameron Highland? They also have it here at Gossip Time, Taman Paramount.

 Gossip Pork Burger King
RM24.90

Are you up for the challenge? If you are, 5 minutes 21 seconds is the time to beat currently! Be the record breaker and you'll earn yourself a free meal!

Challengers of the Burger King!!!

Last but not least, they have affordable lunch sets cater especially to those office nearby!

Wait for my next post about their steamboat served at Gossip time!

FOOD: Raku Pizza @ SS15, Subang Jaya

The Italians have always set the benchmark of how a pizza should be. Here at RAKU PIZZA @ SS15, Subang Jaya has given it a twist from what we know as the "norm"!

Recently, my foodie friends and I got invited for a review session and I personally are very curious of the kind of pizza that they will be serving here. The name of this place "RAKU PIZZA" gave me the impression that pizza will be served in the "Japanese way/style".

Read on to find out more!!

A simple decorations yet comfortable and spacious space for you to dine-in.

BUILD YOUR OWN PIZZA!

Yes! You read that right! Here at RAKU PIZZA, you can build and create you very own pizza of your choice!

Before I continue about my experience that night during the session, let me introduce to you how things work here at RAKU PIZZA.

You may pick the combination that has already been set/fixed from the menu
or
You may want to be creative and create your very own pizza!

 If so,

1. Pick your crust - Plain/ herbs/ charcoal
2. Choose your own sauce - Miso/ Teriyaki/ Wasabi Mayonnaise/ Japanese curry
3. Choose your own toppings - Various toppings for you to choose from the menu with respective                                                          prices! Do check it out!
4. Place your order and witness your very own pizza made before your eye!

BEWARE: It is advisable to check with the staffs while ordering on whether or not the toppings and sauces that you picked compliments each other before it's too late!

The session started off with the introduction of their Signature pizzas

Haru Range (Served with Raku's Teriyaki sauce)

 Sakurajima Lava
RM 12.90

Using a charcoal crust, it contains teriyaki sauce, cheese grilled chicken, sweet onions, Japanese Mayo, topped with shredded seaweed and an onsen Tamago. It is best to spread the egg over the top of the pizza in equal share before consuming. A rather unique way of having your pizza! Eat it quick as the egg will make it slight soggy after awhile.

 Fujiyama Sunrise
RM 12.90

Served with cheese, egg, japanese mayo, okonomi sauce, rice seaweed, and you can also opt for either chicken sausage, chicken ham, karaage chicken, or beef pepperoni. Sauces and toppings fuses and compliments each other very well with plain crispy thin crust.

FUYU Range ( Served with Raku's wasabi mayo)

 Americano Sumo
RM 12.90

Charcoal crust topped with cheese, beef pepperoni, sweet onions, sweet corns, shredded seaweed before drizzled with wasabi mayo. A great combination of sweet, salty and pungent ( by the wasabi mayo).

We also got the opportunity to custom make our very own pizza,

Carmen's signature pizza (my foodie friend no.1)
RM 19.80

Carmen decided to give the herbs crust a try. Served with toppings such as soft shell crab, bonito flakes, sweet corn and mentai mayonnaise topped with Japanese curry sauce.

Clarrisha's signature of the night ( foodie friend no.2)
RM 26.30

Clarrisha decided to make do her toppings on a plain crust as it was her favourite crust among all. So here's what she chose, served with miso sauce with toppings of soft shell crab, extra cheese, boiled potato, chicken ham and mentai mayonnaise. It was a generous amount of toppings especially with the price that comes with it.

 Jason's Specialty
RM 20.90

Last but not least, it's my turn to make my pizza. Plain crust with teriyaki sauce topped with karaage chicken + beef pepperoni, cheese, mushrooms, shredded seaweed and drizzled with okonomi sauce. This combination was slightly too salty for me, as there was a combination of beef pepperoni and okonomi sauce which both are salty. Perhaps either 1 of it will do the trick!

DONBURI

 Chicken Shiogayaki Don
RM 11.90 ( M size)
RM 14.90 ( L size)

If you're not feeling pizza, there are also rice served here at RAKU PIZZA. This chicken shiogayaki Don is served with fried chicken slices and onions with ginger sauce. You just mixed it well together and there you have it! RECOMMENDED!

UDON

Chicken Katsu Don
RM 11.90

Located in the heart of the busy town of SS15 surrounded by colleges, universities and offices apart from household, RAKU PIZZA provides to you Weekdays Promotion Pizza Set to those "pizza cravers" from ONLY RM9.90/set! This is definitely worth it for a personal pizza + 16oz soft drinks.

Food: Choi's Don & Dak @ Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park

The word 'Dak galbi' has been very popular lately after a few outlets and branches selling this hot plate dish as a meal. I've always enjoyed eating them ever since the first time i tried it.

Anyway, I got invited to review at this recently opened Choi's Don & Dak @ Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park. Being the first Dak galbi restaurant in Malaysia selling both chicken and pork, you can choose either pork or chicken to be in your hot sizzling plate of Dak galbi unlike some other restaurants who only sells chicken.

Choi's Don & Dak
( The word 'Don' means pork & 'Dak' means chicken in korean language)

Comfortable, brightly lit and spacious
Surrounding of the restaurant with some thank you messages from their fans/customers at the side of the wall

The 'before-cooking' picture that was taken!
(Look at the amount of vegetables in it! To those of you who wants to eat 'healthy', this might be just the dish that you are looking for!)

We had the honor of Grace (The lady-boss) herself cooking this plate of deliciously looking sizzling plate of Dak galbi for us.

Grace has prepared everything from scratch by herself! From cleaning the chicken to preparing her very own fruit based sauce to ensure the quality and standard of her food before serving it to her customers everyday!

By the way, they do have a minimum order like any other Dak galbi restaurant of 2 person @ ONLY RM19.80 per pax! Not to mentioned, they do give a very generous portion in terms of their servings. Pictures below of the add-onz is only half of the original portion! :)

Add-ons that we had into our Dak galbi

A choice of 6 different types of sausages ( choose 3)
( Cheese, garlic, smoked, mushroom, black pepper & chilli)

  Assorted mushrooms

Korean Ramyon

Udon

Mozarella cheese
( The saying goes 'Save the best for the last'. This Mozarella cheese is really the 'BOMB' tonight! I love it till the MAX!)

The sides ( 'Banchan' in korean)
( I find it a tab bit weird too at first when they serve us mashed potato in a korean restaurant.
To my surprise, this fluffy bowl of mashed potato taste amazingly good! A MUST TRY!!

Besides, they also serve other korean cuisine other than Dak galbi,

Fried rice with dry laver
( I like this very much! It's very light and can be eaten as snacks! A mixture of seaweed, fried rice, lettuce, and their very own specialty sauce)

 Korean Jjapaghetti
( A unique korean spaghetti topped with a halved sliced hard boiled egg)

Korean Ramyon

Recommended portion!
( In case if you're wondering how much to order)

(PROMOTION!!) Lunch Set Special!
(Super affordable set lunch which comes with a drink and a dessert. Not to forget, they also provide Food Delivery Service with any purchases above RM50!)

With the lady boss! Thumbs up for the great food!
