#Foodpost: Quality & Affordable Vietnamese food @ Guess What, Kota Damansara

Guess What? I've recently visited Kota Damansara and was wandering around looking for dinner. I came across this uniquely named shop there and got me curious. Went to check out their menu and found out they serve fusion Vietnamese food.

Here at Guess What, they aim to bring about
high quality food at a very affordable price
to its diners!

It has a very "Vietnamese style" deco with its lanterns hanging from the ceiling and a huge Vietnam Flag which gives us as patrons the feels of dining in Vietnam. Food and desserts are being prepared at the kiosk just as how it is in Vietnam too!

Here's some of the picture i've tried recently at Guess What?

Starters & appetizers,

Deep fried summer rolls
RM6.90

Summer Rolls
RM6.90
Fish Sauce Chicken Wings
RM6.90
RECOMMENDED!!!
Fragrantly marinated with fish sauce deep fried to perfection! This is my TOP PICK among the variety of starters! We even ordered 2 more plates of this chicken wings.

Satisfied with the starters and get our appetite on-going, here are some of the Mains that we had during our visit. We decided to order a few so that we can share and try more of their dishes.

Pork Banh Mi
RM7.90

If you've been to Vietnam, you'd know this is one of Vietnam's popular delicacy! Therefore, it is a MUST TRY whenever I visit a Vietnamese eatery. To my surprise, it is one of the best Banh Mi I've tried so far here in KL. Baguette is toasted to crispy on the outside, fluffy on the outside, stuffed with pork hams and generous amount of greens. Among the popular Banh Mi here at Guess What are their Pork and Chicken Banh Mi.

Pho
Pronounce as "fur" which brings about the meaning of Vietnamese broth, rice noodles, herbs and meats primarily either beef or pork.

A complete bowl of "pho" is usually served with a plate of sides consist of leafy green vegetables, herbs, chillies and lime. At Guess What, they have a wide variety of "pho" ranging from pork to clams.
Clams Pho
RM8.90
Australian Beef Pho
Beef - RM13.90
Ribeye - RM17.90

The clams and Australian Beef pho are my top 2 pick among the many different types of pho here at Guess What. I personally feel that the most important ingredient for a good bowl of "Pho" is the broth. A fragrant and flavorful broth will differentiate between an extraordinary from an ordinary bowl and Guess What? They have done it! (Geddit? HAHA!)

Beef Internal Organs Pho
RM12.90

What I also like is that they have added a local twist to their menu by adding this Beef Internal Organs Pho. To those inerts lover, this would be the bowl for you!

Beef Ball Pho
RM13.90

Chicken Pho
RM8.90

Fish Pho
RM12.90

Pork Chop Dry Noodles
RM9.90

For a change, to those who prefers to have some dry noodles.

Heritage Coconut Rice
RM16.50

Consists of generous amount of homemade meatballs, coconut flesh and broth made from coconut juice.

Phat Hai Vietnamese Coffee
RM6.50

Another MUST TRY whenever you visit a Vietnamese eatery is their Coffee as they are popular for their coffee as well. Do try this Phat Hai Vietnamese Coffee, it has a very nice chocolate after taste that comes along every sip! It usually has a lot of ice to dilute the strong aromatic Vietnamese coffee.

#Foodpost: Great food & Wine @ MANDALA, Publika

Great day peeps! Hope you've been having a great one this week! Here's another post about a a place I recently stumbled upon together with my foodie friends of mine - MANDALA CAFE & BAR @ Publika. We were greeted with a modern setting upon arrival with high bars stools and tables which exudes a classic feel. Just the perfect place to wine down and chill on a mid week!

At MANDALA, its not your typical cafe/ restaurant where you dine and leave. They aim to bring about a concept of togetherness where you can chill, dine and relax with your friends and family. They also offer a VIP lounge for those who would prefer some privacy (with a minimum spending).

Many celebrities have also visited this cozy cafe here at Publika. To name a few,

Our famous local fashion designer Dato Jimmy Choo himself

And our very own "Jaguh Kampung" - Dato Lee Chong Wei!

Moving on, here's some of the Starters that we had during our visit!

Tomyum popcorn Chicken

*Paired with MANDALA's house Pouring wine - Chateau Haut Riot Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 (France)

I personally love the wines served here at MANDALA. I thought it has a nice aroma and soft to it

Fried Chicken Wings

A great sides to go with my glass of wine! Very lightly battered coating of sweet honey garlic sauce spreads evenly. Crispy and good!

RECOMMENDED!!!

Lemon, Garlic & Butter Mussels

A very light side dish - A great balance of sour & salty to it. Definitely a great dish to start off your dinner!

As we are done with our starters, it's time to for the highlight and the MAINS of the night!

Pepperoni Pizza

Grilled chicken with Buttermilk sauce

Another highly Recommended!!! dish I would recommend here at MANDALA!

If you're dropping by MANDALA after reading this post, you've definitely not miss this plate of protein. Chicken was very well marinated and cooked to perfection retaining its moisture in it. Complimented by butter milk sauce which is slightly spicy that adds a little more "kick" to the grilled chicken.

Black Angel Pasta with Grilled Chicken

It has a very strong herbs taste which coats every strand of spaghetti. If you like the fragrant herbs taste, this would be it!

Golden Soft Shell Crab Spaghetti

The Spaghetti is cooked to Al dante which has just the right texture topped with a whole Soft Shell Crab! A great combination of the lightly flavoured pasta accompanied by the flavourful crab. Definitely a MUST TRY here!!

Finally, despite the full meal, we still had space for some desserts!

Chocolate Lava Cake with Ice Cream
(RECOMMENDED!!!)

I am always craving and looking forward to try lava cakes like that and this certainly did not disappoint me! Loving the combination of warm from the lava cake and cold from the vanilla ice cream!

Rich Chocolate Brownie

#Foodpost: Having my coffee fixed @ The Artcoffee, Bangsar South

Recently as I was strolling around Bangsar South with my foodie friends looking for a place to dine over dinner, I came across this cozy and modern looking cafe - The artcoffee located on the 1st floor of Nexus, Bangsar South.

They also has Free Mocktails here. For more information, check with their friendly staffs :)

Also,  many different corners which are also "insta-worthy"! A great place to update your social medias!

Let's get to the main reason of visiting this cafe! We ordered some of their popular starter dishes

House Salad
RM13

We decided to go with a refreshing plate of salad to start off our dinner! I particularly like the bits and pieces of dried cherry which give this dish a tinge of sweetness in every bite. Consist of lolo Rosso, lolo Bienda, purple cabbage, capsicum, tomato salsa, walnut, dried cherry drizzled with special house dressing to top it off!

Soup for the Soul
RM 13

Followed by a warm soup for some comfort after a long day at work which consist of generous amount of classic chicken and broccoli.

Chili Cheese Fries
RM14

I have always been attracted to Chili Cheese Fries! I will tend to order it whenever I see them on the menu! Haha! #fatlife . The minced meat sauce with the cheese sauce is amazing! However, I personally thought that the fries is a little over-cooked tonight. Otherwise, its Good!

Mains!

Smoked Salmon Napoletana
RM25

Moving on, we had some pastas as our main. Started off with this Smoked Salmon Napoletana. Consist of smoked salmon slices, garlic, basil, cream, tomato coulis, broccoli floret, olives and button mushrooms. Patrons can also opt for spaghetti if preferred. I love this dish a lot as it has a great combinations of salty and spiciness to it. The portion is pretty generous as well as I thought it might be enough for 2 pax.

Seafood Marinara
RM23

To those prefer tomato based pastas, here's a dish for you! Consist of prawns, green mussels and squid.

Chicks
RM28

Baked boneless chicken leg stuffed with carrot, spring onions, mushroom paste and mozarella, on top of yellow-spiced mash serve with Chef's signature sauce.

Steak Diane
RM38

Herbs Baked Lamb Rack
RM45

This is my another favourite here at The Artcoffee! Herbs Baked Lamb Rack - Baked to Medium well lamb rack, accompanied with carrot puree, cherry tomatoes and chic peas served with garlic mashed and signature cherry sauce. Whenever you drop by The Artcoffee, I would strongly suggest you to try this tasty rack of lamb! However, I personally thought I could eat 2 of this!

Coffee & Desserts

Cafe Mocha
RM15
Cappuccino
RM14

Ended our dinner that night with some coffee and desserts! We were very satisfied with the coffee served here by The Artcoffee. As expected, the coffee here is pretty good with the right temperature and a thick layer of foam on its cappuccino.
