Event: McDonald's Blogger Appreciation Night @ McDonald Mutiara Damansara

McDonald has always been my All-Time Favourite fast food chain here in Malaysia! This blogger appreciation night organised by McDonald had brought out the child in me as it was like a dream came true for me =P

McDonald’s is one of the most iconic brands in the world with over 36,000 locations serving approximately 69MILLION customers in over 100 countries each day. In Malaysia, McDonald’s opened its door in 1982 and instantly became a local favourite. With over 30 years presence in Malaysia, McDonald’s continuously strive to introduce new concepts to captivate Malaysians via its restaurants nationwide.

The MC of the night, Azura Zainal

Managing Director or McDonald Malaysia, Encik Azmir Jaafar giving his speech and some insight details of the brand. We were amazed by how each and every burger is prepared to provide the highest quality.

Mini sampling sized burgers were served for the night too!

McDonald's has changed the standards of fast food all over the world, making it more affordable with value meals for lunch and dinner. Now everyone can afford to have McDonald's at any time of the day, whenever the craving strikes.

#Yang Klasik
One of the earliest burgers to be introduced, Malaysia’s best selling burger McChicken is known as the classic because it represents the brand. The famous burger is best known for its chicken patty, shredded lettuce, toasted bun and mayonnaise.

#Yang Hangat
McDonald’s has another popular burger that is known as the Spicy Chicken McDeluxe which is a fan favorite. Everyone’s favourite fiery chicken burger is made out of 100% chicken breast meat, shredded lettuce and toasted bun that is deliciously mouthwatering and irresistible.

#Yang Gempak
Remember the Grilled Chicken Burger? Which is also known as (GCB)? Well fans of the famous seasonal burger will be excited to know that McDonald’s Grilled Chicken Burger has been made permanent on the menu for a while now because of its popularity. For someone who prefers a more unique burger from McDonald’s, the GCB would be it because it is made of whole tender chicken that is grilled to perfection, paired with char-grilled sauce and lettuce sandwiched in between two golden, warm and freshly toasted sesame seeds buns.

" #Yang Hangat pastilah kegemaran saya! ", the Spicy Chicken Mcdeluxe is my personal favourite among them. It has always been and always be the burger to go for whenever I am in McDonald :) Loving the tender chicken breast deep fried to perfection, lettuce, mayonnaise and the extra "kicks" - spicyness of it!

Food: Shellout Seafood Restaurant, Kota Damansara

It's SEAFOOD LICKING GOOD time at Shellout Seafood Restaurant, Kota Damansara
Ever since I visited this eatery together with my foodie friends recently, I have started to crave for their seafood almost everyday and had been looking forward to visit them again!

This is not your normal seafood restaurant where you have your seafood served to you in a pot, bowl or plate. Here at Shellout Seafood Restaurant, you'll be served with PLASTIC BAGS!! Yes, you read them right! Seafoods here are served in bags of plastic to marinated and preserved the taste and freshness of the seafoods!

Dining here will give you an entirely different experience to your little seafood adventures! Instead of enjoying your meal with cutlery nor plates not bowls, you'll be encouraged to use your bare hands here to savour every bite of your seafood. However, trust me on this, it'll be totally worth it!

Here's the menu for you to have an estimate your order and budget,

Upon arrival, you will be given this menu for you to choose your "Catch of the day".

Here's some tips/guide on how you'd like to order your meal here:

Step 1
Choose your catch of the day

Ranging from crab, king prawn, crawfish, clam, mussels, Giant scallop, bamboo clamp and octopus. My personal favourite would be the Bamboo clamp, mussels and crab

Step 2/3
Pick your sensation and spicy level!

This is basically the level of spicyness that you can take/prefer. (Mild > Medium > OMG!!!). The crew who takes your order would usually assist you in choosing the sensation of your choice.

Step 4
Add ons

Ranging from brocolli, corn on cob, potatoes, sausages.

Here's our catch of the night!

Giant scallops
RM29.90++ (for 6 pcs)

Lobster
RM179++ / KG (Market price)

 Green Mussels
RM31.90++ (for 8 pieces)

 Crawfish
RM50.90 / 500 g

 Fried foods

Silver pomfret (Big serving)

A group picture of my foodie friends and myself after a satisfying meal! Good food provided by Shellout here has brought attention of many media, bloggers, and the public of Klang Valley here. Shellout has recently expanded their business due to the popular demand to Setia Alam, Shah Alam.

In a nut shell, it has been a very satisfying "Crab-licous" meal for us as the food was awesomely tastyservice was good and all of us left with a happy tummy. In terms of pricing, I would say it tilts a little more towards the higher range, however, it also depends on what you order.

Before I end my post, just a tip for you to arrive earlier to avoid any long waiting time especially towards the later part of the evening when the dinner crowd arrives. Last but not least, I would like to thank Aunty Lilly, who blogs at www.followmetoeatla.blogspot.com for the pictures on this post. Food: 5.1 Cafe Gallery @ Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur

Recently,  I realised that Sri Petaling had been gaining popularity for cafes and restaurants owner mainly for its strategic location south to the city centre of Kuala Lumpur near Happy Garden, Kuchai Lama and Bukit Jalil. This place became popular also due to the few nearby Universities namely International Medical University(IMU) and Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT).

As a student of IMU myself, Sri Petaling had been my place to hangout with my friends during breaks and free time. My friends and I decided to drop by this little cafe located right above "Tanjung Sepat Snack Shop".

This cafe gave me a very homey and a comfy feel to it where I can chill and relax from my hectic University schedule. Decorations here are best for those of you who likes photography and to update your instagram account! :)

Some of the cute decorations which I found on the wall of the cafe.

Here's some of the MAINS that we had during the dinner session!

Tortilla Chicken
[RECOMMENDED!!!]
RM15.90

This platter of tasty-chunky deboned chicken thigh is well marinated and fried to perfection before being drizzled with black pepper sauce wrapped with tortilla wrap. I particularly love the generosity in this plate of goodness! This is one of my personal recommendation to you when you drop by!!!

Followed by pizzas, we have this 5.1 tortilla pizzas priced at RM12.90. I find this pretty unique as you'll get tortilla chips as the base of the pizza rather than the usual dough. However, this pizza should be eaten fresh out from the moment it is serve to you! Otherwise, the tortilla chips beneath it will turn soggy.

Sausage Tortilla Pizza
RM12.90

Sensational Bites
RM12.90

For those of you who loves sausage, this might just be the plate you'll enjoy! For a complete meal, this plate consist of cheese, chicken ham, crab roll, lettuce, and not forgetting the premium sausages that topped it off too! :)

Desserts

It's finally time for dessert! There will always be space for dessert no matter how filled our tummy is :)

Crispy Crunch Banana
RM12.90

Chocolate, banana, vanilla ice cream and strawberry always goes well together! One of the best dessert served here at 5.1 Cafe Gallery! Worth the try!

Last but not least, how can we not try their coffee when we are already here! Here's some of their signature drinks served here!

Rose Latte
I like the latte art made here at 5.1 Cafe Gallery! So creatively cute! A sleeping cat dreaming of a fish on a cup of rose infused cup of latte.

Mocha

Picture of a robot on a cup of Mocha. This cuppa could easily be one of the best Mocha I've ever had. Perfect combination of chocolate, coffee and milk in this cup!

Matcha Latte

This is the end of my post on 5.1  Cafe Gallery. The ambience and surrounding here gives a very comfortable feel to its patrons to chill, relax, unwind with a good book over the weekend. Food and drinks here are not too bad unlike the usual cafe food that you find in other cafes.

Food: Alanna's Kitchen @ Pandan Indah, Ampang

Do you enjoy Arabic food as much as I do? If you do, you should really check out Alanna's Kitchen @ Pandan Indah, Ampang. They serve a combination of fusion & arabic food here with affordable price!

Recently, as I was wondering the street around Pandan Indah for food, I came across this humble little eatery which I decided to try it out. Little did I know, the food was unexpectedly good!

Do not be deceived about the look of this eatery, it has a very simple looking yet cozy & comfy environment for its patrons. Service here is good and most importantly, it is very suitable for friends and family gatherings!

Let me take you through my dinner session :)

Arabic Chicken Mandy
RM9.90

Started the night with this plate of "Arabic style Chicken Rice". I like the fragrant of the rice which is complimented by the well marinated chunky piece of chicken. I like the chilli on the side particularly as it is sourish and spicy which goes well with the chicken and rice.

Alana's Special Grilled Chicken
RM12.90
(Comes with a COMPLIMENTARY drinks)

A very special "edition" of Grilled chicken here which I personally thinks this could be the "healthier" choice of way of cooking compared to Arabic Chicken Mandy. Apart from being healthier, I personally finds this a little tastier too :)

Spaghetti Carbonara
RM10.90

Grilled Chicken Chop
(Choice of mushroom or black pepper sauce)
RM9.90

Tender and succulent chicken thigh that is flavourful from its marination. Both black pepper and mushroom sauce are homemade. I personally would recommend the black pepper sauce :)

Seafood Tomyam with rice and drinks
RM9.90

Affordable pot of tomyam with generous portion of clams, squids, prawns, mushrooms and various other ingredients added into it. The tomyam has a perfect combination of spicy and sour. Anyway, this is a total steal away for those seafood tomyam lovers out there!

Arabic Chicken Haneeth with rice and drinks
RM9.90

My first impression of this dish is to be rather weird as it has many different spices & ingredients mixed together in a pot. The style of this dish appears to be more Arabian and has a very fragrant combination of spices taste to it. This dish might be very subjective, those who loves spices will definitely love this pot of goodness!

Chocolate muffins

Some desserts for our palate after such hearty meal. Sweet and tasty cup cakes, however, I personally finds it a little too dry. Just a little more moist to it should do the job!

They also serve homemade cake slices here. The cake slices here are in fact one of the best selling food here at Alana's Kitchen! The cakes will replenish every 2 days! My personal favourite would be the cheesecake series! The texture and flavour of the cheesecakes compliments each other very well and does not over power one another.

RM9.90
Blueberry Cheesecake, Oreo Cheesecake, Greentea Cheesecake, Dark Forest Cheesecake

RM 8.90
Dark forest Mousse, Hazelnut Mousse

*All cakes comes with a choice of black coffee, earl grey tea or soft drinks that is available the whole day! (MORNING - NIGHT)
