[Day 3] Laos march 2017 - National Museum and Cafe hopping @ Luang Prabang, Laos

On our 3rd day at Luang Prabang, Laos, we decided to shift to a hostel nearby which has a more strategic location (along the main road) with half the price in comparison to the hostel we stayed for the past 2 nights. Therefore, if you're dropping by Luang Prabang, Laos in the near future and are looking for a place slightly away (about 10 minutes walking distance) from the busy street with a good price, this would be a good place for you! I'm very satisfied with my stay here, front desk is friendly, clean and comfortable. Most importantly, it has good ratings on Booking.com

Check out their place in the link above!

Here's some picture of the place for you!

Free coffee & tea throughout the day

Breakfast are usually included into the price of the room here at Pangkham lodge. Breakfast typically include fruits of the day, a pancake of your choice or local sandwiches and a choice of orange juice/ coffee/ tea or milk.

Local sandwich with fried eggs and bacons

After our breakfast, we chilled for a while in our room before heading out for lunch at a nearby food stall

We ordered pineapple fried rice and seafood tomyam to be shared among the 4 of us. However, fried rice here at not too my liking as it is slightly too moist and sticky probably due to the type of rice that's being used for this dish. Tomyam soup are not awesome as well as it's slightly a bit too taste-less to my likings. Perhaps a little bit more of sourish and spicyness to it would be perfect. Anyway, we are just looking for something to fill our tummy before we proceed on by visiting the National Museum of Luang Prabang.

We are finally here at the National Museum of Luang Prabang! It's located right at the town center at the busy street of Luang Prabang. It is one of their main attractions here at Luang Prabang which we get the opportunity to learn more about this place as it was previously the royal palace that houses many interesting historical items and antiques. Every items in here has a story to tell, so you'll learn quite a bit about Lao history and its royal.

Here's some picture of the place for you :)

I only got a picture of the outside of the Museum I wasn't allowed to take pictures in the museum. Anyway, inside the museum, footwear and photography are NOT PERMITTED also you will require to leave your belongings at the locker (FREE) on the left hand side of the building. Additional to that, it is also especially to ladies, it is advisable to wear skirts/ pants below your knee otherwise you'll have to rent a scarf for 5,000 Kip.

After spending about 1 hour plus at the National Museum, we decided to stop by at one of the cafe nearby which also has a good review online by its patrons from all over the world - Le Banneton. Famous for it's coffee, ice creams and pastries.

A great place for you to have a chill afternoon over a bottle of beer or a cup of coffee. Staffs here are very friendly and speaks good english.

We ordered their ice cream which was said to be homemade. It's very creamy and very affordable with only 13,000 Kip (1.6 USD) per scoop of ice cream. Just the perfect food for a hot afternoon!

Baguette sold here are crispy on the outside and soft/ fluffy on the inside. It's so good that it's almost perfect eating it dipping in ketchup! (HAHA!)

20,000 Kip (2.47 USD) per bottle

After the tea time at Le Benneton, we decided to take a slow stroll back to our hostel. We stumble upon this long time cafe - JOMA which have a wide variety of pastries/ cookies and pizzas accompanied by coffee. Perhaps the only cafes in Luang Prabang that has air-condition in the cafe.

Here's some picture of the place :)

Some random shots I got an opportunity to capture during my day :)

Ended the day with some street snacks that we have packed from the night market along our way home for dinner! Various types of fried pork accompanied by sticky rice and seaweed to go along with it. Simple but delicious!

Here's my post on day 4!

Food: The Morning After @ Skypark Terminal, Subang Jaya

THE MORNING AFTER TAKES FLIGHT AT SKYPARK TERMINAL

Coffee-lovers, foodies and travellers, can now enjoy a wide range of delicious food and a signature coffee blend at The Morning After, the latest introduction to SkyPark Terminal. The outlet that aims to ‘brings sexy back’ to coffee with its unique combination of steel and wood elements, was launched on the 2nd of January 2017 and has become a popular choice for passengers thanks to its growing notoriety across the country.

Inspired by the all-day brunch dining parlours of Melbourne, Australia, The Morning After continues to expand, and in its third year, has 7 outlets across Klang Valley and the Northern Region. A major contribution to this growth is the support that The Morning After receives from its parent company, Rhombus Group, a Malaysian food and beverage company that has over 19 brands under its label.

Now that the brand has established its presence in Malaysia, The Morning After looks to spread its wings. With its signature blend of Brazilian and Indian coffee beans, the gourmet espresso bar is in the midst of taking its house blend of coffee to the international caffeine scene via export, and setting up outlets in Taiwan, Myanmar, China, and Bangladesh.

Those eager to give their brand of coffee a try and explore their expansive menu that includes pastas, gourmet burgers, rice dishes, and other mouthwatering dishes, can do so at SkyPark Terminal, Ativo Plaza, T6 Light Grey Mall, M Roof, Penang International Airport, Damansara Utama (Coffee Bar), and MERCU Summit Suites.
