Food: UDON - YA SAN @ Pandan Indah

Looking for some good and affordable udon in town? Come head to UDON-YA SAN RESTAURANT at Pandan Indah! This place has been in operation for 4 months now. Its suitable most for those who would wish to dine in with their families or even just to satisfies your "Udon-cravings". The 'udon' here are chewier and it gives the bouncy feeling as you enjoy your meal. Why? Because they are all FRESHLY MADE DAILY here manually by the chef.

The entrance of UDON-YA SAN Restaurant

Japanese calligraphy as part of their decorations

Simple and comfortable settings of the place

We were served with this refreshing passion fruit with plum as we arrived

Tsukimi Udon Soup
( I personally love this bowl of clear soup udon! It has a soft boiled egg on the soup which represents the moon which in Japan it's known as "The Moon Viewing Udon". Mixed everything well together to get the aroma of the bonito soup with the combination of seaweed, spring onions and tempura batter!)

It also served together with chilli flakes. Mixed a little into your bowl of udon if you love eating spicy like I do!

Tsukimi Udon (dry)
( This bowl of udon is served with the combination of seaweeds, spring onions, tempura batter and also the half boiled egg)

Mentaiko Udon
(This udon is served with chopped cucumbers, seaweed and a generous amount of codfish roe (mentaiko). The codfish roe is the main element which gives this udon its own unique taste. You could even taste the salty-ness of the codfish roe in every bite!)
Salad Udon
( This cold noodle is served with sliced seaweed, freshly cutted lettuce, cherries tomatoes and finally some 'Goma' dressing to add to it's flavour. This is very suitable for vegetarians and for those who is on a low calorie diet!)
Black pepper yaki - Udon

Carbonara Udon
( This is my first time trying 'udon' served with carbonara sauce. To my surprise, this has amazed my taste buds and in fact the highlight of the night! It was served with parmegiano cheese, cream, and egg yolk. Owh! not forgetting the delicious cured pork meat (aka pancetta) to top it off!
Highly recommended! *thumbs up*

Next, we are served with some sides to compliment our 'udon'.
Tonkatsu
(fried pork fillet with 'panko' bread crump)
'Panko' is a Japanese-style breadcrumb traditionally used as a coating for deep-fried foods such as tonkatsu. The difference between 'panko' and standard breadcrumbs is that 'panko' is made from bread without crusts.

Assorted vegetables tempura
( A combination of ladies fingers, lotus, brinjals and chillies)

Ajitama
( To those who likes runny egg yolk, this is just the dish for you! This is a great combination of sesame seeds, chopped spring onion and of course the egg yolk)

Chicken karage
Kakiage
( A japanese side dish consisting of onions, long beans, and carrot that are dip in tempura batter and frying it till golden brown. This crispy side dish surely compliment well with your bowl of 'udon'.

Food: MARCHE @ The Curve

Last week, I managed to spend time with my family over dinner at MARCHE Restaurant. It was a celebration for our dearest daddy's birthday.

Here in Marche, you get to see for yourself the freshness and quality of the produce, the smell of what's baking in the ovens, hear the food sizzling and watch the food being prepared fresh from the "market". With that being said, what it means is that, in Marche, you get to pick and choose your raw meats, vegetables, mushrooms, rosti, and seafoods and have it cooked freshly beyond your eyes. So just pick and place your order.

I surely did enjoyed ourselves that night! Let the pictures below to show you how much I enjoyed :)

Here, is their order sheet where we were given at the entrance
