#Travelpost: 2nd day of Family trip at DUTY FREE LANGKAWI

It's our 2nd day here at Langkawi and it's ISLAND HOPPING DAY!

We started off by meeting the tour agents at Anytime Holidays HQ. We were then being transported to the Jeti for our boat ride.

First stop - Pulau Beras Basah

Pulau Beras Basah is located 25 Kilometers southwest of Kuah, Langkawi which is approximately 30 minutes boat ride from the jeti. It features its soft sandy beaches, swaying coconut trees and crystal clear sea water - Just how a paradise would be :)

Also, note that there are a many monkeys around the beach area. So BEWARE of your belongings at all times during your time here! Also, try to hide any food and drinks that you brought along with in bag and avoid holding it in your hands.

Here's the activity center where there's Banana boats, snorkeling and many other water activities. You can check it out at this counter right here when you drop by.

After spending about an hour or 2 here at the beach, next stop would be "Eagle Feeding". I personally love this a lot as it's my first time witnessing how the Eagles will just be flying in circles waiting for they prey or food to arrive. What happens is that, either one of the boat who arrives will carry with them some food to feed the eagles. Upon arrival, the meat pieces will be thrown and feed to the eagles. I would definitely come back for this!

Here's a short clip of it,

Next and final stop would be the "Dayang Bunting" Island where it's said to have a beautiful natural lake here where you'll be able to enjoy the scenery while kayaking.

Here's the entrance fees upon entering this place:

Adult: RM6 per entry
Children: RM3 per entry

Preparing for our kayaking around the lake here at Dayang Bunting.

Much later after that, we took the boat ride back and went home for a quick shower before heading out for the sunset at Pantai Cenang. After the magnificent sunset, we drove around and were searching for a seafood dinner place. Stumbled upon this Seafood Restaurant - Wonderland whos is also highly recommended on Google, we decided to try it out as there were some really great reviews online too!

Look at the crowd at Wonderland tonight! I'm not sure if they are Halal Certified but they certainly are pork free!

Started off with this Ginger Onion Clam dish which has a little bit of spicyness but the clams are undeniably fresh!

Steamed fish

Next is my favourite Salted Egg Cray Fish!!!!!! THIS IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Of course, if you prefer other types of cooking that will enhance the freshness of the seafood, you can too! :)

Sambal "Sotong"

To be honest, I was a little skeptical about this dish when it arrives but it proves me wrong from the very first bite! The spicy-ness of this dish is not overpowering the taste as a whole and the freshness of the "sotong" made it even better!

Some green vegetables

Fried oyster with omelette

In a nutshell, Wonderland offers a wide range of seafood with many different types of cooking styles which I would say it's pretty good for it's price. Having to say that, the price here at Wonderland is not too expensive as well as Seafood here are cheaper compared to back in KL where seafood are much much more expensive. Really worth the money! Definitely be back here for the Salted Egg Cray Fish and Sambal "Sotong" when I'm back next time!

#Travelpost: Day 1 at Beautiful Sunset at Cenang Beach at DUTY FREE LANGKAWI

During the recent Matta Fair which happen over the weekend we stumble upon this holiday package to Langkawi which seems to be affordable - 16th to 18th March 2018, we bought a Family Package to Langkawi from Anytime Holiday SDN BHD. It's a package for 10pax which includes
  • accomodation for 3 days 2 nights ( 3 bedroom apartment)
  • Car rental (10 pax Van)
  • Island hopping for 10 pax
at ONLY RM1699!

p/s: This is not a paid blog :)

We decided to take advantage of the school holiday in March to visit Langkawi. As the package that we bought did not cover our transfer to the jetty, we decided to drive up to Kuala Perlis Jetty which took us almost 5 hours and 30 minutes from Kuala Lumpur. It's a rather smooth drive up north fortunately as we were expecting some traffic due to the holidays.

Parked our car around the parking lots around the Jetty area. There will be local agents who rides around with their motorcycles to usher you to their designated space. The standard parking rate there is RM10/ day which I think it's pretty reasonable.

So we bought the ticket for the ferry from Kuala Perlis Jetty to Langkawi which departs at 1pm. The journey took us 1 hour and 15 minutes. The journey is pretty comfortable as there were allocated seat number upon purchasing the ticket. So you do not have to worry if you'll be getting yourself a seat for the journey!

Here's some of "How to get to Langkawi' information for you:

https://www.langkawi-insight.com/langkawi_000004.htm

Of course! One of the thing that Langkawi boast about it's the DUTY FREE ALCOHOL, CIGARETTES & CHOCOLATES. So, if you're intent of carting some of those, this is the place you'd want to be! Please be note that there will be lots of duty free shops all around Langkawi and the price may fluctuate a little from shop to shop. I personally stayed near this duty free shop - Toew Soon Huat Duty Free (TSH DUTY FREE) which I find the prices there are very reasonable and a great place to do your shopping there.

After shopping around at TSH Duty Free, to stock our chocolates and alcohol for the next 2 nights, we went home to rest before going out at night to Pantai Cenang for dinner. Oh by the way, we got pretty cozy and comfortable apartment for the next 2 night that's enough for 10 pax @ Century Suria Apartment.

(Sorry I didnt managed to get a picture of our apartment!!)

Upon reaching Pantai Cenang, we decided to stroll around at the beach to enjoy the sunset before heading for dinner.

Look at that wonderful Sunset scenery here at Pantai Cenang. Grab a drink or dine along the restaurants here at this beach while enjoy this panoramic view of the beach. Later on, as we were walking around the beach looking for a place for dinner, we stumbled upon this chinese restaurant who seems like there's quite a few occupied tables and we thought we should give it a try.

Claypot Assorted Seafood

Deep Fried Squid

"Kam Heong" Lala

Stir-fried Deer Meat

All in all, we were pretty disappointed with the food there as it was just mediocre. The dishes there was rather bland and not very tasty despite the various different types of dishes. I personally wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for some good Chinese style cooking meal :(

We went home after dinner and get some rest before the next day where we will be doing "Island Hopping"
