FOOD: Coffee House @ Sunway Putra Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. "2016 Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner".

Every end is a new beginning! The year of the sheep is coming to an end and it'll be the beginning of the year of the monkey!

In celebration of the most significant event in the Chinese Lunar Calendar, Chinese New Year, Sunway Putra Hotel unveiled a series of exciting dining programs for guests to rejoice with friends and family at its hotel.

To kick off the festive spirit, Sunway Putra Hotel ushered in the Year of the Red Fire Monkey, in a typical sizzling celebration with acrobatic lion dance performances, the writing of a chinese calligraphy saying that symbolizes hope for the new year by the famous Chinese Calligraphy artist Adam Ng and "Yee Sang" tossing!

The famous calligraphy artist, Adam Ng hands-on.

Hosted by Augustine M.Silva, Senior General Manager, Sunway Putra Hotel and accompanied by Sunway Hotels & Resorts' cluster Director of Operations, Kelly Leong, the celebration marked the official opening of the month long promotions and programs for this auspicious lunar festival at the hotel.

The largest "yee sang" tossing i've ever witnessed!

The event also saw the hotel celebrating the dawn of Chinese New Year with 25 underpriviledged children from the Shepherd's Centre Foundation Malaysia as part of its "Time to Give", corporate social responsibility program. The children were presented with red angpow packets by Augustine and were later treated to the sumptious meal at the Coffee House along with other guests and partners.

This year, Sunway Putra Hotel's skillful culinary team led by Chef Cheong Chee Seng, Head of Chinese Chef has pulled all stops to ensure guests are treated to an international feast not just to the palates but also for the eyes.

Food: Hawker street @ Taman Danau Desa, Bringing you the taste of Penang!

Recently, my foodie friends and I was feeling very adventurous and came across this "little penang" located at Taman Desa. Hawker Street @ Taman Desa claims to brings you the best of Penang to you patrons in KL! If you're familiar with Malaysia, you'd probably know what Penang is famous for!

Laksa and Char Kuey Teow has always been my all time favourite Penang dish! Therefore, I will be very picky with my choice of stalls. However, this little eatery did not disappoint me at all during my visit. Please read on to find out more about the quality of food served here!

Hawker Street is located 2 shop lots away from the in-famous Woo Pin Fish Head noodle.

Comfortable and spacious settings for its patrons.

Beautifully decorated flower arrangements at the entrance.

This little eatery is managed/ run by the chef, Matthew himself and his partner Brandon. They aims to brings and share the authenticity of Penang dishes out of the state. Growing up in a family of chefs has allowed Matthew to be exposed and learn the skills from generations!

Find out below on our experience here!

 Pat poh herbal tea
RM3.30

Three flavour coffee
RM 3.90

Pat Poh Milk
RM3.90

Snacks

Signature Lobak
RM4.90

We were served with their Signature Lobak as starter. Those who love lobak, this might just be it! A very meaty feeling to it which is complimented well with the beancurd wrap on the outside.

MAINS

 Asam Laksa
RM8.60

The laksa served here has a very balanced taste between sour and spicy. I like the texture and taste of the soup here as they are very generous with the amount of fish given. Not the best laksa I've tasted or to my likings however, it is still One of the best! If you're craving for a decent bowl of laksa, this would definitely not disappoint you!

 Hokkien Prawn Mee
RM8.50

A Must-Try here at this little eatery! One of my recommendation to you if you are dropping by! The soup may not be as red as expected of your typical bowl of hokkien mee. However, do not be deceive by the look of it as the soup has a very fragrant aroma of prawn flavour in it.

If you love chillies as much as I do, it'll be best if you add this spoon of chilly paste into the soup to add on more spicy flavours to your bowl of hokkien mee.

 White Curry Mee
RM8.50

The secret to this white looking bowl of noodle lies in this curry paste that comes with it. Patrons are required to stir and mixed the paste into the soup before enjoying this bowl of white curry mee.

 Pork Minced Kuey Teow Soup
RM 8.50

 Big Prawn Char Kuey Teow
RM12.50

Look at those big and chunky piece of prawns topped on this perfect plate of fried kuey teow! Blogging this near mid night just makes me crave for it more right now! This plate of Char Kuey Teow could easily be the next recommended dish here!

Priced at RM12.50 per plate is rather slightly pricy, however, it is served with 2 big prawns and generous amount of cockles which totally makes it worth. Those who loves they plate of char kuey teow with this will definitely think it's worth it!
